This regulation, issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), dictates technical requirements for the safe development of products in industrial automation and control systems.
In the certification process, the company recorded the use of development practices in sectors such as security needs detection, risk assessment, design and testing. According to the company, this involves incorporating security strategies from the design phase.
The IEC 62443-4-1 certification is part of Hikvision's internal system known as the Hikvision Secure Development Life Cycle (HSDLC), which covers the analysis, design, development, testing and delivery phases of the product. According to the company, this system incorporates principles and technologies aimed at managing security in technological products.
Hikvision also said that it will continue with the development of its HSDLC model and that it plans to maintain security management throughout the entire lifecycle of its products. It also noted that it is considering establishing collaborations with other companies in the sector to promote common practices related to cybersecurity.
