Mexico. The municipality of Alberdi, in the province of Tucumán, took a step in the modernization of its security scheme with the implementation of Alerta Alberdi, a comprehensive platform for monitoring and citizen intervention implemented together with the technological integrator Matech and with technology from SoftGuard.
The official presentation was made on Monday, September 29, 2025, during a tour of works led by the governor on leave Osvaldo Jaldo; the deputy governor in charge of the Executive, Miguel Acevedo; the Minister of the Interior, Darío Monteros; and the municipal auditor, Guillermo Norry, who were accompanied by other provincial authorities.
A safety tool for neighbors
Alerta Alberdi is an application with its own graphic identity, designed so that residents have a direct way of contact in emergency situations on their mobile phone. Alerts are managed in real time from the local Monitoring Center by a specialized team, with permanent monitoring 24 hours a day.
"We wanted to empower neighbors and provide assistance that is up to the demand of the current times in terms of security," said the Minister of the Interior, Darío Monteros, when highlighting the initiative.
Among the main functionalities of the system are five customizable buttons for the immediate sending of alerts from anywhere; the sending of photos and videos in real time to validate the reported situation; the visualization of the fleet of available mobiles, with estimation of assistance times; a Violet Code for cases of gender violence; and GPS geolocation, which allows a direct connection with security vehicles.
The platform also contemplates preventive actions in school corridors, shops and public transport, with the aim of expanding coverage in areas of high traffic.
Preventive approach and use of Big Data
In addition to immediate response, Alerta Alberdi incorporates a preventive approach. Each reported event is consolidated in a database that, through the use of Big Data, will allow the construction of a crime map with global visualization.
"Alerta Alberdi is not only a tool for immediate intervention, but also an instrument of prevention," said Marcelo Moreno, Secretary of Security of the municipality.
With this initiative, Alberdi integrates technology, citizen participation and permanent monitoring, strengthening the articulation between institutions and the community to move towards a safer environment.
