HID held the Inspire Summit Latam in Medellín with the participation of regional partners and technology presentations

Colombia. HID held the Inspire Summit Latam on May 7 and 8 in Medellín, Colombia, an event aimed at technology partners, distributors, integrators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) from Latin America.

The day included talks, training workshops and a commercial exhibition with the presence of partner brands such as Assa Abloy, LENELS2, Invenzi, Genetec, OnDesker, RISI Technologies and DeskBee.

At the meeting, company executives such as Martin Huddart, senior vice president and head of Physical Access Control Solutions, and Gustavo Gassmann, vice president of Emerging Markets for Physical Access Control, led sessions focused on the future of mobile identities, rising technology trends in the region, and challenges related to physical security and cybersecurity.

"With this type of meeting, we seek to promote a broader understanding of our solutions, their interoperability with third-party software and their application in various environments. This direct interaction strengthens our network of distributors and integrators, allowing them to deploy more robust, efficient solutions adapted to the specific requirements of the Latin American market," said Rogerio Coradini, commercial director of Physical Access Control for Latin America and the Caribbean at HID.

A standout product of the event was HID Amico, a biometric facial recognition reader created for environments that demand speed, accuracy and little physical contact.  This technology was shown to be an essential component of the trade show.

"The event was a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the company's end-to-end solutions." In particular, Amico's presentation was incredible, especially the integration of facial recognition into access control systems, which opens up many possibilities in the market," said Diego Carranza, business developer at Assa Abloy Mexico.

Andrés Delgado, LENELS2 sales manager for the Andean Region, said: "The event was very enriching, since it allowed us to learn about HID's strategy in the short, medium and long term in terms of access control, especially in relation to mobile credentials. The launch of the new facial recognition reader was also impressive, a huge improvement that will undoubtedly benefit the entire industry."

During the event, partners who performed well in 2024 were also recognized. According to the organizers, the awards reflect the relevance of collaboration between actors in the sector to promote technological solutions that respond to the needs of the Latin American market.

"It has been a very interesting and enriching experience, with all the knowledge of the solutions offered by HID. I take a lot of valuable information with me that I will be able to apply in my daily work," said Marcelo Villela, commercial manager for Latin America at IB Tecnología.
