Latin America. Mariana Ramírez is the new president of the International Relations Committee of the Security Industry Association (SIA), while Vanesa Cabral assumed the role of vice president.
SIA's International Relations Committee works to represent and promote its members in the security sector. To this end, it serves as a reference resource for SIA members and their partners in priority markets such as Latin America. It also develops international strategies designed to promote cooperation with security companies and trade associations in the sector.
"Expanding SIA's positive impact": Mariana Ramírez
With a 16-year career in team leadership, Mariana Ramírez is the Regional Marketing Manager for Latin America of the company Axis Communications. Previously, he collaborated with the company CommScope, implementing their marketing strategy for Mexico and Brazil. During the last year, Ramírez was part of SIA's International Relations Committee, contributing to initiatives focused on strengthening the security sector throughout the region.
"I am truly honored and excited to take over as president and contribute to the continued growth and development of the security industry," says Ramirez. "My top priorities will be educational initiatives and dialogues between manufacturers, partners, integrators and end users to drive innovation, collaboration and long-term growth in the industry. I look forward to supporting the development of relevant content that helps empower professionals, strengthen our community, and enhance the value of education as a driver for the transformation of the security industry."
The new president of the International Relations Committee has a degree in Hotel Management from the Intercontinental University and an MBA from IPADE Business School. In addition, she is certified as a specialist in fintech, big data and business strategy by the Tecnológico de Monterrey and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. Currently, she is an Ambassador of the SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) community and actively participates in industry events such as SIAThere!, educational talks and networking initiatives.
"Projecting the position of the region globally": Vanesa Cabral
Vanesa Cabral Evranian comes to her new role with previous experience in strategic alliances, business development and supply chains. With 19 years of experience in the security sector, Cabral has developed and strengthened commercial relationships in Latin America, the United States and Europe, developing in various markets and business dynamics. Currently, she serves as director for Latin America at the company Convergint.
"It is an enormous responsibility to serve as vice chair of the International Relations Committee. I will focus especially on strengthening Latin America's position as a strategic region for the global growth of the industry," says Cabral. "My priority will be to continue strengthening the impact of our collective efforts through SIA, working together to address challenges, build resilience through emerging technologies, and improve cross-sector alignment. By working closely with the entire ecosystem, we can co-create smarter, more adaptable solutions, while generating sustainable value for our members."
Like Mariana Ramirez, Vanesa Cabral also has previous experience on the International Relations Committee, where she has supported key regional initiatives to foster collaboration between stakeholders and has contributed to the planning of webinars and the organization of events such as SIA Education at ISC West, Expo Seguridad Mexico, and SIAThere! Likewise, the executive participated in the launch of WISF LATAM and has promoted new talents through the RISE program and the SIA Mentoring Program.
