¿Almacenar video ya no es suficiente? Habla la Directora de Ventas de Milestone para Latam

Latin America. Johana Arias, an executive at Milestone Systems, discusses how the integration of AI, natural language, and open platforms are transforming video into actionable insights for decision-making.

Video surveillance is no longer just about surveillance; today it drives the efficiency and growth of companies. The Sales Director for Latin America explains in this interview why intelligent video has become the new strategic engine of organizations.

What challenges related to video surveillance and video management do you see as priorities for organizations in the region?
One of the main challenges is the ability to capture, manage and take advantage of the enormous volume of information generated by current video surveillance systems. Organizations are no longer just looking to store video, but to turn it into useful knowledge that allows them to make faster and more effective decisions. Added to this is the need to
Have flexible platforms that integrate video, audio, metadata, and other sources of information, in addition to responding to growing cybersecurity and scalability requirements.

Milestone Systems has shown advances related to video management, analytics and technology integration. Which solutions are of most interest and why?
The solutions that have garnered the most interest are XProtect, BriefCam, and Arcules, as together they show how organizations can evolve from simple video capture to actionable intelligence generation. Particularly noteworthy is the use of artificial intelligence and natural language in Arcules Ask, which allows users to interact with the platform through simple queries and obtain automatic results, simplifying
significantly the search and analysis of information.

There is currently a growing need for open and scalable platforms. How is this trend reflected in the conversations you have with your customers?
Customers are looking for solutions that allow them to integrate different technologies and adapt to specific needs without being limited to a single ecosystem. In this sense, Milestone's open platform philosophy remains
a key differentiator, as it facilitates collaboration with integrators and technology partners to build flexible solutions ready to grow along with the needs of each organization.

Artificial intelligence applied to video is a relevant topic today. How is Milestone helping companies leverage these capabilities more strategically and efficiently?
Milestone is incorporating AI capabilities across its portfolio to simplify video management and analytics. Through solutions like BriefCam and features like Arcules Ask, organizations can perform advanced searches using natural language, automate analysis processes, and access more quickly
relevant information. This reduces operational complexity and allows users to derive value from their video systems in a more efficient and intuitive way.

What opportunities does Milestone Systems envision for the future of intelligent video surveillance in Latin America?
Milestone sees significant opportunities in the adoption of artificial intelligence, hybrid models and cloud-based solutions. Sectors such as citizen surveillance, industry, airports, hospitality, and retail continue to drive demand for smarter and more scalable systems. In addition, the evolution of natural language-based tools and advanced analytics will enable organizations to better leverage their video data, transforming video surveillance into a strategic platform for security, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
