Latin America. Johnson Controls is commemorating its 140th anniversary, highlighting more than 100 years of innovation in the building industry to create safe, smart, healthy and sustainable environments. The company, established in 1885, launched the first automatic sprinkler on the market and, shortly after, the first room thermostat.
Today, it provides one of the world's most extensive ranges of heating, ventilation and air conditioning appliances and systems, as well as state-of-the-art fire protection and security solutions.
The company operates throughout the entire life cycle of buildings, serving key sectors such as data centers, advanced manufacturing, educational institutions, hospitals, and pharmaceutical laboratories. With nearly 8,000 patents and sustained investment in engineering, research and development, Johnson Controls remains committed to technological innovation.
"This anniversary gives us the opportunity to reflect on our trajectory. We are honored and grateful by those who came before us and feel a responsibility to move forward, accelerate the resolution of our customers' problems, and find new and better ways to push technologies to make a difference," said Joakim Weidemanis, CEO of Johnson Controls.
Weidemanis also stressed that "the secret to our enduring success lies in our talented teams around the world" and expressed his gratitude to employees, customers and partners "for their contribution to reaching this exciting milestone." He added: "As we celebrate our achievements, we are also excited about the future. We feel like we've just begun. We are ready to drive our technological innovation and continuous improvement together with our customers to continue transforming our industry for the next 140 years."
The company has consolidated a digitally integrated product and service offering, which includes the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and real-time analytics, with the aim of optimizing the operation and efficiency of buildings.
