International. Five Taiwanese companies – CyberLink, EverFocus, Himax, Kneron and VIVOTEK – presented their latest technological developments during the product launch event organized by Taiwan Excellence within the framework of ISC West 2025, a trade fair specialized in converged security held in Las Vegas.
The event, under the theme "Powering Global Security with Taiwan's AI Solutions," was organized by the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and brought together companies from the sector that showcased AI-based solutions for surveillance, biometric authentication, and data processing at the edge.
"Taiwan Excellence first participated in ISC West in 2018 and, after a seven-year absence, we are pleased to return, reaffirming our commitment to the security industry and the importance of this global exhibition," said Yolanda Pi, director of the Taiwan Trade Center in Los Angeles. He added that "today, through TAITRA, our product launch event showcased some of Taiwan's most cutting-edge AI security solutions. Security is a global concern that requires reliable and cutting-edge solutions."
Ralph Jensen, editor and editor-in-chief of Security Today magazine, highlighted Taiwan's role in the technological development of the sector. "Their work is critical to protecting lives and communities. Thank you for your dedication; I look forward to seeing where their creativity and innovation will take us."
The solutions presented included:
· CyberLink: The company introduced FaceMe Security, a solution that, according to Mei Guu, president of Business Unit 2, "transforms video surveillance from reactive to proactive," thanks to features such as people tracking and virtual fences, which can be integrated with existing video management platforms.
· EverFocus: Gary Chen, U.S. Product Sales Manager, introduced a mobile DVR system with Full HD video recording under demanding conditions. "Your safety, our priority," he said, noting that the equipment is suitable for public transport, law enforcement and fleets, with 4G/5G connectivity options and anti-vibration technology.
· Himax Technologies: Alex Chang, Senior Product Manager for Technical Marketing, introduced WiseEye, a palm vein biometric authentication suite combined with facial recognition. "The palm vein is as distinctive as DNA," he explained, noting its accuracy and resistance to fraud.
· Kneron: Jeffrey Chen, chief marketing officer, said that "the future is at the edge," referring to its Edge AI chip. He stressed that processing data locally on the device reduces latency, improves privacy and allows offline operation.
· VIVOTEK: Ray Cooke, Senior Director of Product Development at VIVOTEK USA, presented VORTEX, a cloud platform under the VSaaS model, and the AI Hub feature. The latter, he explained, "unifies AI-powered capabilities into a single platform," optimizing surveillance and facilitating decision-making through real-time and post-event analytics.
The event facilitated spaces for exchange between Taiwanese companies and actors in the international security sector. TAITRA led the delegation of 19 participating companies, in a strategy that seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation and position Taiwan as a technological partner in the field of global security.
