Latin America. Vertiv has appointed David Goncalvez as head of market development for Latin America, a new position created to support the company's long-term business strategy and consolidate its presence in key markets. In addition, David will serve as interim director of channels for the region.
Goncalvez is responsible for identifying new market opportunities, strengthening relationships with Vertiv's customers and partners, and driving expansion in segments such as industrial, mining, transportation, government, education, retail, among others, that increase digital adoption.
"Latin America is a market with enormous potential and my goal is to increase our participation," said Goncalvez. "As we grow Vertiv's presence in more markets with new customers, we will continue to offer new and innovative solutions and services, as well as comprehensive support to those we have been working with," he added.
Goncalvez has more than 20 years with the company, where he has held positions such as key account manager, channel sales manager, data center sales manager for Latam and, in his most recent position, as business strategy & offering manager for Latam. During his career he has led the channel strategy in Chile and the consolidation of the data center industry in the region. He has also led sales processes focused on optimizing Vertiv's portfolio to improve competitiveness and technical quality in strategic markets.
"Vertiv is a company committed to operational continuity and digital transformation. This new position is an important step in our business strategy to achieve the objectives we have set for the future of the company. David Goncalvez has built a strong track record at Vertiv, and his results have not only fueled his professional growth, but have also been instrumental in the development of our organization," said Alex Sasaki, Vice President of Sales for Latin America.
The market development role is expected to foster key markets influenced by trends such as nearshoring, which represent significant potential for business growth. Countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Chile are well positioned to take advantage of this phenomenon due to their geographical and economic advantages, and the quality of their professional talent.
Goncalvez studied Systems Engineering and holds an MBA from the University of Chile, as well as a degree in Telecommunications.
