Latin America. Colombia will host the International Summit Smart City, Safe Cities and Smart Citizenship in Bogota, which will take place from May 28 to 30 at the Sheraton Hotel. This event, in its seventh edition, will bring together experts and authorities from around the world to discuss three key topics: smart cities, safe cities and smart citizenship, with the aim of moving towards Smart, Sustainable and Connected Territories.
Colombia will host the International Smart City, Safe Cities, and Smart Citizenship Summit in Bogotá, which will take place from May 28 to 30 at the Sheraton Hotel. In its seventh edition, this event will bring together experts and authorities from around the world to discuss three key topics: smart cities, safe cities, and smart citizenship, with the aim of advancing toward Smart, Sustainable, and Connected Territories.
Representatives from international city governments, such as Málaga (Spain), Turin (Italy), which has received European awards like the Most Innovative City in Europe and the European Capital of Smart Tourism, and the Government of Cusco (Peru), among others, will participate. Additionally, organizations like the European Union Delegation to Colombia, the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), and Diplomatic Corps will have opportunities to share global advancements and experiences that could be replicated in Latin America and Colombia.
The event will also feature the presence of Colombian government entities, such as the Digital Transformation Advisory of the Presidency, the Digital Development Directorate of the National Planning Department, and the Ministry of ICT, which support projects like the Smart Territories Maturity Model, the PotencIA centers, and the Smart City Mompox project. Innovations from the National Police aimed at improving urban security will also be presented.
At the local level, the Governments of Bolívar, Cundinamarca, Valle, Tolima, and Córdoba, among others, will be represented, as well as the CAR of Cundinamarca, a key entity in sustainable development. Mayors and Secretaries of Security and ICT from cities like Bogotá, Cali, Barranquilla, Manizales, and Pereira will share their Smart City and citizen security projects implemented in Colombia's major cities. Bogotá, as the host city, will participate with its mayor’s office, ICT Advisory, International Relations Advisory, as well as entities such as the Bogotá Metro, the Airport, and Transmilenio. On May 27, a preliminary activity will take place where international governments and speakers will visit iconic projects of "Bogotá Smart Territory."

Intermediate cities like Lórica, Rionegro, Barrancabermeja, among others, led by their Association Asointermedias, will also have space to discuss how these medium-sized cities, with great development and growth potential, as well as regional influence, are being revitalized. Additionally, mayors from across Colombia will share their technological initiatives and efforts to improve citizen well-being: Mompox, Villa de Leyva, Sincé, Momil, and the Mayors of PAP Sumapaz in Cundinamarca, among others.
On May 29, the second edition of the International ICCI Award (Innovative and Smart City Initiatives) will be presented, organized by the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, Asocapitales, Asointermedias, universities, and other partners, to recognize the impact of various cities and municipalities in different areas of urban development.
The academic agenda of the event will be held over the three days, with an expected attendance of around 3,000 visitors.
In addition, 50 technology, communications, security, and other key sector brands, both international and Colombian, will participate in the commercial exhibition. Regarding academia, institutions such as the Colombian School of Engineering, Universidad Externado de Colombia, Universidad Nacional, La Sabana, EAFIT, the UxTIC University Network, and the Rumbo University Network, among others, will participate. This event is positioned as a key driver of various Smart Cities initiatives in Bogotá and across the country.
