United States . During the ISC West 2023 we had the opportunity to interview Luis Arturo Chávez Cadena, sales director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of the company IDIS Global, who shared one of the novelties that surprised at this event, a video surveillance solution with scope in 360 degrees, but without distortion in the view option.
This fisheye video surveillance option reproduces video with a range of 360 degrees, reaching important angles of interest, but with a comfortable view without distortion, once the image is zoomed in (which previously appears in the shape of a circle or marble ) allows you to see as if you were recording with a camera totally frontal to the image (that is, it happens to be seen in a traditional box).
Simply put, a single powerful IDIS camera allows you to look at a wide area from different vantage points. It is important to note that this solution is already available for Latin America.
Regarding this year's participation, the number of people stood out, in a comparison with 2022. “Things have returned to take their place a little after what the pandemic is. Last year it was very calm and this time we have received many people again from different parts, in this case from Latin America and the Caribbean, even from outside the continent”.
Another important fact, shared by Luis Arturo, is that the brand as such is barely 5 years old. However, he has created a new revolution in video security with his proposal that changes the way video is managed.
For the sales director, the evolution occurs because previously the fisheye-type cameras, which can record 360 degrees, "people came closer and only saw heads. So, that was not well received. The taste that the vast majority of people have is that the fish eye does not attract much attention to them, because the image is distorted”. Then, he stressed that in this sense, IDIS has seen fit to offer a technology that he calls a "product with a wow factor", because every time all its demonstration is done, the opinion of the client changes by demonstrating the opportunity to make better protections, since it delivers a view in an understandable and comfortable format at the angles of interest, but also allows checking projection lines.
In other words, the IDIS exhibitor's flagship solution allows you to review in real time in 360 degrees, but also in the past tense. In summary, a single small-sized camera can cover large surfaces with a comfortable video format, which is relevant for banks, but also logistics centers and the retail sector.
