Palo Alto Networks announced that it has established a final agreement to acquire Protect AI, an expert in security for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications and models. The purchase aims to enhance Palo Alto Networks' capabilities in the complete protection of AI environments, from their development to their implementation.
According to the official announcement, the integration of Protect AI will make it easier for Palo Alto Networks to accelerate the implementation of its innovative Prisma AIRSTM platform, focused on the protection of systems based on Artificial Intelligence. The company indicated that Protect AI's solutions will help expand coverage against threats such as model manipulation, data poisoning and attacks on AI components.
"As AI-based applications become business-critical, they carry risks that traditional security tools cannot adequately manage," said Anand Oswal, senior vice president and general manager of Palo Alto Networks. "By expanding our AI security capabilities to include Protect AI's innovative solutions for AI protection, enterprises will be able to develop AI applications with comprehensive security."

Following the completion of the agreement, Protect AI's executive team, founders and employees are expected to join Palo Alto Networks.La completion of the transaction is dependent on customary circumstances, including regulatory clearances, and is projected to be completed in the first quarter of Palo Alto Networks' fiscal year 2026.
