International. Suprema announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hyundai Motor Group. This collaboration will focus on the development of comprehensive security solutions based on AI and robotics.
This agreement seeks to create innovative business models in robotics and physical security by combining Suprema's world-leading AI-based integrated security solutions with Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB's advanced robotics technology. Key areas of cooperation between the two companies will include the development of comprehensive security solutions that integrate AI and robotics, the implementation of autonomous robotics services by connecting robots to infrastructure, the development of new safety services that use robotic technology, and the promotion of standardization in these fields.
The collaboration is expected to lead to the commercialization of state-of-the-art AI-based building security services that combine security with AI and robotics. These solutions will be applied to various robot-compatible construction projects, such as luxury office buildings, general hospitals, and luxury hotels. Suprema's AI-based integrated security platform will be able to control security and infrastructure across entire buildings, creating an environment where humans and robots can safely coexist. This will enable autonomous robot navigation and offer a range of robot-compatible construction services.
Together, Suprema and Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB have already successfully developed and implemented a security solution that integrates Suprema's AI-based facial authentication access control technology with autonomous robots at Factorial Seongsu, the first robot-friendly building commercialized in Korea. In the wake of this success, the companies plan to focus on the continued development of new security services. This includes implementing specialized security formats that use robotic hardware and software technologies to further enhance physical security.
This alliance marks an important milestone by inaugurating a new era in unmanned security services that integrate AI and robotics. "We plan to expand our collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group Robotics LAB to develop AI-based and robot-compatible building security solutions," said Hanchul Kim, CEO of Suprema Inc.
He added: "Our system will seamlessly integrate cloud technology, robotics, AI, various sensors and on-site response solutions. In addition, we aspire to establish ourselves as world leaders in integrated security platforms with AI-based automation, including advanced technologies such as drones with AI and acoustic detection systems."
Access control plays a crucial role in the development of robot-friendly smart spaces. By integrating with access control solutions, we will propose a new standard in the industry where robots, together with humans, will overcome infrastructure problems and take advantage of greater mobility and integrated services," said Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group and Director of Robotics LAB. Our goal is to expand our offering beyond the existing static formats in the physical security sector and create new business opportunities through the RTS (Total Robotic Solution) model of Robotics LAB.
