Colombia. The book Electronic Access Control System, whose author is Engineer William Eduardo Barrera Fajardo, will be presented in the Bogotá International Security Fair ESS+.
The launch will take place during the 10-year COLADCA Gala (International Community in Risk and Security Management), which will take place on August 21 at 4:30 p.m. (COL) in the Gran Salón Grupo Indra, located in pavilion 18 of Corferias.
According to the author, this book compiles the theory and experience in the area of electronic access control and is an easy-to-understand work for people interested in learning about the subject, regardless of whether they have experience or want to reinforce or clarify knowledge. The work is aimed at technical personnel, installers, design engineers, maintenance personnel, commercial advisors, consultants, risk analysts, or physical security professionals.
"The purpose is to train and professionalize the electronic security industry in Latin America, to make known the bases, standards, and applications of an electronic access control system, so that when it is implemented it is successful and satisfactory for the factory, the integrator, and the end user. I aspire for it to be a reference text and guide, which inspires expert professionals in other areas of electronic security (CCTV, alarms, fire detection) to write reference texts in Spanish so that the industry is always training and updating itself," says William Barrera.
Chapter by chapter, the author addresses everything from basic concepts to the most widely used technologies today and new trends. In addition, Barrera Fajardo explains the different applications where an electronic access control system can be used, which are not necessarily security-related, and the integration with other electronic security systems such as alarms, video surveillance systems and fire detection.
Additionally, concepts and terminology related to the equipment used in access control projects are clarified, which are often unknown due to their overly technical language, becoming a support material to carry out projects with professionalism and quality.
"My wish is to leave a legacy and a contribution to the electronic security industry in Latin America, contributing with my experience for more than 30 years in different positions, from installer, technician, and support and design engineer, to advisor and teacher today. Being able to launch it at the ESS+ fair and with the help of COLADCA fills me with pride, because Patricia Acosta's fair is a benchmark in Latin America, and the COLADCA community, headed by Arístides Contreras, has been of great support to risk managers internationally," adds Barrera.
