Video surveillance 2022: innovations in AI and robotics will drive the market

Videovigilancia 2022

Latin America. Johnson Controls offers a vision of what video surveillance will be in 2022 and in which solutions are found that will put organizations one step ahead in the detection of people outside the facilities, incidents and even suspicious activities.

Now the cameras can be worn like any accessory
This type of device has been used, mostly, by police forces; however, its usefulness is spreading to other industries where wearable surveillance is required. Some of the uses that will make this device one of the favorites of 2022 is that, thanks to its use during some activities inside the factories, such as quality control or inventory control, it will be possible to support more effectively the management that is carried out.

"One of the biggest advantages of body cameras is that the transmission of the video is in real time which prevents the equipment from having to be transported from one place to another to download the video," said Luis Enrique Bonilla, Business Development Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean at Johnson Controls.

Also, this equipment has a panic button that, in any situation that places a person in a situation of danger, will allow you to get support from a monitoring center where the alarm will be received and managed.

"Another great comparative advantage of these solutions is that, in future evolutions, it will connect to the Cloudvue video surveillance platform and will be able to stream the system to the cloud over 4G or Wifi networks," Bonilla also said.

Additionally, these cameras have innovative features that make them unique; for example, its ability to fast and secure transfer video and audio, which helps with test management. In addition, its intelligent encryption powers maximum security and privacy, defines access rights and protects the storage infrastructure. This is a customizable solution designed for a body device, or up to an unlimited number of devices.

The cameras can be used in environments in any area, from retail, education and health to private security, commercial and transportation.

Robotics: the future of observation and reporting
From a security standpoint, Johnson Controls' autonomous robots provide a moving surveillance point that addresses the monotonous security tasks associated with observing, patrolling, and reporting, but performed objectively and accurately, allowing staff to focus on resolving incidents while the robot is tasked with monitoring and transmitting information.

Some of the activities of the robot units include: detection and recognition of people, detection of objects and prevention of incidents, among others. "With robotics we are not only taking a step forward in terms of video surveillance, but we are also safeguarding the integrity of human capital, because now, with everything related to the pandemic, these solutions will avoid physical contact and allow employees to spend more time on the response and less on observation," Bonilla said.

These Tyco robots have the ability to carry out an autonomous response to events and send live images to video management systems and the cloud. Likewise, the events identified by the robots activate protocols that can send automatic alerts to personnel, block doors, deny access, track suspicious activities, among others.
