TPE is composed of two terminals, each receiving almost half of the passenger traffic. Construction of the PMS was initiated by the Civil Aeronautics Administration in 1997 and was subsequently completed under the collaboration of China Engineering Consultants Inc., Niigata Transys Co., Ltd., of Japan, and Taiwan Rapid Transit Corp.
The PMS was formally inaugurated on 18 January 2003. The PMS consists of 2 parallel tracks, north and south, each with a bidirectional service. A single car serves the northern track, and is reserved only for airline passengers. The southern track is available to airline passengers and the public, separated by platform dividers between cars. Due to the increasing annual number of passengers using the PMS, safety inside cars has become a crucial issue for this unmanned transport system.
In this sense, TPE commissioned Apogear, a distributor of Vivotek products in Taiwan, and Integrator System Plustek the task of designing and implementing a solution that responds to the security and protection demands of TPE. Complete mobile solution for mobile environments.
Taking into account the immense flow of people in the context of an international airport, as well as the fact that surveillance in mobile environments requires specialized products, Apogear and Plustek formulated a complete mobile solution that includes 10 Vivotek cameras with state-of-the-art technology.
