The American company HBGary, specialized in computer security, was in the crosshairs of Anonymous since a few weeks ago it confirmed that it had managed to identify the identity of several members of Anonymous. According to The Guardian, the company has provided the FBI with the identity of high-ranking users within Anonymous. Those in charge of the group in Germany, Italy, the United States and Australia would have been exposed and could be some of those arrested for the attacks on PayPal.
The attack has been made known through the official Twitter account of HBGary CEO Aaron Barr. Anonymous members have gained control of the account and are publishing their access to the company's private material. The avatar of Aaron Barr's account has also been changed, showing a caricature of the HBGary executive on which they have put the word "Nigger".
Anonymous members have published various private HBGary data. Among the information is Aaron Barr's social security number, address and phone number. In addition, hackers have managed to gain access to HBGary's tax data, its accounting data and the backups of its system. The materials are being distributed via torrent files.
The company's website is currently listed as 'under construction'. According to the guardian newspaper, those responsible for the site have chosen to leave the web in this state until they take full control of it again. The members of Anonymous had replaced the company's page with an image in which it said: "you are nothing compared to anonymous users. You don't have any security knowledge."
