20/01/2011 Mexico. The capital police and the National Private Security Council (CNSP) signed a collaboration agreement to establish the basis for creating a crime prevention network.
The chief of the capital police, Manuel Mondragón y Kalb, reported that this agreement seeks to order the companies that provide this service in the capital of the country and that they have the requirements and training necessary to provide the service.
Interviewed at the end of the event that was held in a convention center to the west of Mexico City, the head of the Secretariat of Public Security of the Federal District (SSPDF), added that there are currently more than 600 registered companies that provide a service to approximately 18 thousand users and that in the last two years more than 100 companies that do not meet the necessary requirements have been closed.
The official explained that among the requirements that are requested is to have a business name, permanently train its elements, as well as cover the fiscal requirements and have the necessary administrative areas.
For his part, the president of the CNSP, Alejandro Desfassiaux, indicated that this agreement reinforces the work of this type of companies to contribute to the fight against crime and the prevention of crime in conjunction with the authorities.
He commented that the authorities of the capital government and private security companies will work together to reduce crime rates through providing an efficient service.
Finally, Mondragón y Kalb affirmed that "the doors of the Technical Institute of Police Training are open" to provide the necessary training to security personnel, and recalled that this agreement also enables the Secretary's Attention Center as a means of direct communication with these companies to expedite the police option in case of emergency.
