Latin America. Axis Communications, a leader in IP video surveillance, launched a camera that poses no risk of explosions. With a Full HD resolution, the camera is protected by a 316L stainless steel case and holds international certifications.
The camera's own design does not cause explosions. Its protective box, manufactured and certified by the English company Oxalis Group Ltd, specialist in security and communications solutions for environments with high risk of explosion, prevents any spark or internal explosion from escaping and can interact with the gases and dust found in the external environment.
This launch is Axis Communications' first anti-explosion product – a requirement to be used in mining and refineries, for example. "Plant managers in the oil and gas, chemical processing, and paper and textile industries face particular security challenges," said Anthony Incorvati, Business Development Manager for Critical Infrastructure at Axis Communications.
The XF40-Q1765 offers superior image quality and high color fidelity. It integrates easily with other equipment, such as access control and fire alarms. The same camera also offers 360-degree vertical and pan movements on its XP40-Q1765 model.
Both camera options, fixed or with swivel and tilt movements, can be used with the broadest base of video management software on the market, in addition to AXIS Camera Station software. They also have support for applications developed by third parties to aggregate intelligence resources, and are compatible with the ONVIF standard for systems integration.
The two anti-explosion options complement Axis' portfolio for critical environments, made up of other stainless steel cameras, fixed cameras and PTZs. The availability of these is expected for the fourth quarter of this year.
