Latin America. In Latin America, the country with the highest technological consumption of telecommunications such as networks, cell phones and computers is Chile, according to the results presented by América Economía on the Connectivity Scorecard study, which measures countries based on several indicators among which are technological capabilities.This research analyzed the technology of five Latin countries, Chile ranked first with a score of 6.59, followed by Mexico with 5.39, Argentina with 5.14, Brazil with 5.12 and Colombia with 4.02.
The Latin American leader has the best performance in broadband penetration and population coverage by mobile telephony, as well as the operation of fixed lines, although the score is not good in cell phone penetration.
In Mexico there is a good performance in the connectivity of users, the study reveals that broadband penetration is good and most of the country is covered by mobile telephony, although the incursion of cell phones is not so high and internet use has an average status. In business, connectivity is low, with limited secure server penetration and weak expenditures on IT resources.
Broadband access in Argentina is not as high as that of its neighboring country, Chile, the performance in terms of business infrastructure, use and skills is moderate and seems to be held back by spending on software, hardware and computer services.
Brazil's score on broadband penetration in homes, mobile, mobile population coverage, and mobile use is moderate, although it works very well in terms of internet connection in terms of equality.
Colombia has good levels of incursion of mobile phones along with broadband penetration being slightly higher than the average, although in business infrastructure it is not so surprising, while E-govermment is very high.
