Colombia. At the ESS+ Security Fair, Johnson Controls unveiled its latest innovations in system integration and wireless solutions. Daniel Leal, business development manager for northern Latin America, presented the main developments aimed at automation and operational efficiency.
Integrated Portfolio
The company offers a portfolio that includes access control, video surveillance, intrusion and fire detection. According to Leal, the advantage lies in the native integration of these solutions, which allows for faster implementations and lower additional costs.
IQ Panels: Security and Automation in One System
Among the outstanding novelties were the IQ panels, devices that combine security and home automation functions. These devices support up to 128 wireless and 137 automation security devices, in a self-contained system that includes battery, siren and screen.
Leal explained that this type of panel allows automatic routines to be programmed in real time, such as turning off lights or air conditioning when a door or window is left open.
Reliability of wireless solutions
Although the market has shown resistance to wireless security, Johnson Controls assures that its robust communication protocol guarantees stability and continuity in the connection. The sensors, with batteries that can last more than three years, seek to offer a practical alternative to wired systems, avoiding civil works and reducing installation and maintenance costs.
Impact on energy efficiency
The executive stressed that the solutions also contribute to energy savings and the optimization of resources. Sectors such as short rentals and residential have implemented these technologies to remotely control lighting, air conditioning and access, which facilitates property management and reduces consumption.
New sectors in adoption
In more conservative industries, such as banking, the company observes a transition process towards hybrid schemes that combine wired and wireless, in order to reduce expenses in adaptations and infrastructure. Johnson Controls has also introduced light barriers and distribution center solutions with wireless communication, capable of covering large spaces without additional investment in connections.
"What we have seen is an increase in confidence in wireless solutions in multiple verticals, from residential to logistics centers," said Leal, who also announced a talk on the evolution of the company's technology in this segment.
