Peru. IXM Peru, a company of the international CMOC group, launched Milestone Systems' XProtect video management software at its mineral storage center located in Callao, in order to solve critical failures in video surveillance and ensure the traceability of its logistics activities.
Milestone Systems, a provider of open-platform video management software (VMS), reported that the mining company required a solution capable of integrating with multiple camera brands, scaling with the growth of its infrastructure, and ensuring uninterrupted recordings in all its critical areas.
FORTREX SAC, the integrator responsible for installing the XProtect Professional Plus system on Husky NVR servers, also from Milestone, unified a network of 60 Axis Communications cameras and established an adaptable and scalable architecture. the procedure included the installation of a backup infrastructure in the San Isidro office and the modification of the storage periods according to the operational needs of IXM Peru.
"The platform not only strengthens the protection of assets, but also improves the efficiency of our operations," said José Paul Lames Zureta, Head of Safety and Quality at IXM Peru. "It helps us keep a close eye on logistics flows, verify that vehicles are entering and unloading correctly, and ensure that each stage of the process goes according to plan."
Prior to implementation, the company experienced recording breaks of up to 90 minutes, loss of records, and storage restrictions that impacted vehicle tracking and mineral handling.
According to José Luis Rojas Vara, Project Engineer at FORTREX SAC, "the main challenge was to migrate the entire system and transfer the data from 60 cameras without affecting the client's operations, and we achieved it in just half an hour.
Since the transition to the new system, IXM Peru has carried out constant monitoring in the critical areas of the storage center. The security team has been able to concentrate on strategic tasks, while customers obtain the required recordings with more agility and reliability.
"We can now monitor our facilities with complete confidence and are ready for the next stage: an infrastructure ready to operate with cloud services and AI analytics, which will take our operations and our security to the next level," concluded José Paul Lames.
