Latin America. Hanwha Vision announced the development of Wisenet 9, its new technology platform designed to power the second-generation P-series, X-series and soon-to-be-T-series cameras.
This architecture is presented as a strategic step to respond to the demands of the video surveillance market with greater processing power, advanced artificial intelligence capabilities and a reinforced focus on cybersecurity.
In a recent conversation with Ramy Ayad, Vice President of Product Management and Innovation, and Gerald BeomSeok Kim, Senior Product Manager, they both explained the strategic direction behind the development and technical implications of Wisenet 9.
"Our primary goal was to push the boundaries of current technology and introduce a new generation of truly intelligent, AI-powered cameras with superior processing power, exceptional video quality – especially in challenging lighting conditions – and strong cybersecurity protection," said Gerald.
Among the enhancements incorporated, Ramy highlighted FIPS 140-3 Level 3 compliance and the inclusion of an integrated resource and energy management tool as key advantages in the cameras powered by this new platform.
"One of the main motivations was Hanwha Vision's strategic decision to design and optimize our own SoC (system-on-chip), as the technological core of our new camera line, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency," said Ramy.
"This control allows us to better respond to the particular needs of our customers and the particularities of the market. It also allows us to maintain a high yield without compromising price competitiveness," he added.
With these capabilities, Wisenet 9 will be the base technology of Hanwha Vision's flagship cameras. According to Ramy, "Wisenet 9 and the cameras powered by Wisenet 9 will become a new industry standard, thanks to their extensive AI functionalities and advanced image processing capability."
The company projects that this platform will have a positive impact beyond Hanwha Vision, seeking to elevate value for end users and integrators in different sectors of the electronic security industry.
