Colombia. The announcement was made by the Governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón, who presented a pilot project to integrate 500 private surveillance cameras into the monitoring center of the Departmental Security Node.
According to Rendón, the objective is to strengthen control and judicialization efforts in different municipalities in the department of Antioquia.
"We are going to carry out a pilot project to link technological devices that already exist in many commercial establishments to the Security Nodes, in order to generate more deterrence or to carry out judicial proceedings in cases where criminal acts occur," said the departmental leader, at the end of the meeting with the mayors of the Magdalena Medio subregion and the commanders of the public forces with jurisdiction in the area.
The project, which is led by the Ministry of Security and Justice through Valor +, has an investment, in its first phase, of 700 million pesos (about US$165,000), which will be invested in the licensing of the platforms that will allow the integration of private cameras with visual in public spaces.
