Mexico. Veridas, a specialist in biometric solutions for digital identity verification, announced its arrival in Mexico with the purpose of facilitating the company's operations in the Americas and adapting its solutions to the commercial, regulatory and social demands of this region.
For the company, this opening means another step in its growth in the country, where it has already been approved and recognized by the National Electoral Institute (INE) as one of the biometrics that allow any financial institution in the country to contract its services (including N4 accounts), and comply with the new resolution of the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
Also, thanks to Veridas' voice biometrics, BBVA Mexico allows its retired customers to give a proof of faith in life without having to move to a branch, as they had to do until now: a call and their voice in a few seconds are enough to carry out this operation.
Eduardo Azanza, CEO of Veridas, points out that "we are a company that puts the citizen at the center, respecting all their rights and providing them with tools to make use of their real identity voluntarily and safely. With our arrival in Mexico we want to globally unfold a future without keys and without passwords and improve the lives of citizens in Latin America. We have carried out more than 70 million identity verifications for leading companies in different sectors and the Public Administration in various countries and we are convinced of having a solid technology capable of growing globally".
To date, 4 of the 10 leading banks in Mexico use Veridas' biometric technology.
Mauricio Guijarro, Vice President of Sales for the Americas at Veridas, said: "Our opening of headquarters in Mexico means that we will also provide a more personalized service to the region with pre-sales, sales and after-sales teams for Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Brazil. Biometric technology is already being used by millions of older people to attest to life with their voice and collect their pensions or to open a bank account, facilitating financial and digital inclusion around the world. In addition to being an environmental relief by avoiding countless unnecessary displacements. Our technology improves the lives of people and the planet by generating a safer environment to access and operate in this new hybrid scenario between the digital and the physical."
Veridas' proprietary technology is considered one of the best in the world by the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States. With a human team that already exceeds one hundred people, this company of Spanish origin is also recognized for its excellence and commitment in compliance with the entire regulatory framework in terms of data protection, with the certifications and guarantees of reference throughout the world.
Azanza emphasizes the reliability of Veridas' technology: "We develop 100% of private and secure biometric technologies by design, based on the requirements of data protection, technological security and information security regulations."
Veridas ensures that its technologies conform, in the case of Mexico, to its Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Individuals; and holding certified anti-fraud techniques (ISO 30107-3) or complying with regulations such as the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
With the opening of these new offices Veridas will intensify its presence at fairs and events. In the remainder of 2022, they will attend the Security Expo, which will be held in June, and in November the Open Finance, the most reference fintech event in LATAM. In addition, they will be present at the RSA in San Francisco and at the Money 20/20 in Las Vegas.
