United States. Boon Edam Inc.'s Lillington, North Carolina, headquarters in Lillington, North Carolina, received a certificate from the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) during a formal ceremony on March 2.
Patrick Nora, President and CEO of Boon Edam Manufacturing, USA, opened the ceremony with a welcome message, followed by an overview of the SHARP program provided by occupational safety consultants Blair Byrd and Bruce Pearson.
North Carolina Labor Commissioner Josh Dobson also spoke, followed by remarks from Harnett County Commissioner Chairman Lewis Weatherspoon and Boon Edam Safety Representative Ginger Pasley. The ceremony concluded by following the photos.
Lillington Mayor Glenn McFadden also attended the ceremony. Other confirmed attendees included additional Harnett County staff members and Boon Edam employees.
"We are honored and delighted to receive our official SHARP certificate and flag, which designates us as one of the few small businesses dedicated to an exceptionally safe and healthy workplace," said Mr. Nora. "This is a recognition that Boon Edam North America has been working for for many years and we are all excited to see the fruits of our labor come to life."
Boon Edam's North Carolina facility received SHARP accreditation from the North Carolina Department of Labor in December 2021. Administered through the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the SHARP Recognition Program certifies employers who have established, implemented, and maintained workplace safety standards.
