Colombia. In Buga, municipality of Valle del Cauca, located in the south of this country, the Emergency Management and Security Center is already in operation, which has an initial interconnection to 27 municipalities.
It is a modern remote room, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which allows the integration of 141 surveillance video cameras in the municipalities covered, in addition to the information generated by drones, facial recognition cameras, and mobile monitoring and reporting units that are operated by the Police.
From this place, which becomes a reference center for Colombia of inter-institutional work for the security of citizens, the unique emergency number 123 of the Valle Police will also operate, articulated with the Remote Room of the Government and in permanent communication with 130 civic security fronts that complement the strategies that are being advanced.
This project has the cloud security systems provided by the company Eagle Eye Networks.
The governor of the Valley, Clara Luz Roldán and the Deputy Minister of Defense, Jairo García, led the inauguration of this center that took place at the end of 2021. "An investment of more than $ 45,000 million pesos (about US $ 11 million) of the security rate, very important for our police," said the president about this work, which began in the previous departmental administration.
"We are opening the most modern Emergency Management and Security Center, to combat crime relentlessly," said the president.
The Deputy Minister of Defense, Jairo García, thanked the leadership, institutional capacity and commitment of the Government of the Valley to promote these projects that contribute to citizen security. "This teamwork that we have been consolidating in recent years has been fundamental so that today this Security and Emergency Management Center is another tool for the capabilities of the National Police and all the public forces that will have a presence here. Definitely, the Valley is setting an example again in the institutionality, in the leadership and determination to carry out these strategic projects," said García.
The inauguration was attended by the high commands of the Police, the Army, delegates of the national Government, the former governor Dilian Francisca Toro and the municipal authorities.
