Mexico. A manufacturer of single-use disposable products with seven manufacturing locations across the country wanted to upgrade its existing analog CCTV security system that was outdated and unreliable.
The organization wanted to upgrade its manufacturing locations with an Axis IP camera system that would provide surveillance coverage on and off the premises.
The company wanted surveillance coverage inside and outside the facility, especially in the vast parking areas that store the fleet of more than 450 tractor-trailers. However, the project was threatened by high costs, complexity and permit requirements to lay new cables to support cameras in all areas. The organization needed an innovative network strategy to support Axis' new IP camera system on and off the premises.
Solution
SITE Group, a key partner in the region, suggested NVT Phybridge's PoE FLEX solution to overcome customer digital transformation barriers. The FLEX PoE switch offers Ethernet and PoE++ over any new or existing multi-pair UTP (CAT5/6) cabling with a range of up to 610 m. The customer agreed to test the technology on-site at no cost or obligation through NVT Phybridge's proof-of-concept program.
After a few simple configuration steps, NVT Phybridge's LONG-range FLEX PoE solution transformed the existing cabling infrastructure into a robust and secure IP backbone to support Axis' IP camera system. The FLEX switch delivered reliable power and data to Axis IP cameras in the parking lot to provide complete surveillance coverage.
Result
Site Group used the NVT Phybridge FLEX PoE switch to enable Axis IP cameras exactly where the customer needed them, as their long-range capabilities eliminated the need for cabinets or repeaters along the way.
