International. In 2021, Senstar celebrates its 40th anniversary. The company was founded in 1981 with the aim of bringing to the commercial security market technologies originally intended for military applications.
With only seven employees, Senstar introduced its first product: Sentrax, a buried cable perimeter security technology, in September 1982. Early adopters included Correctional Service Canada, the British Home Office and Western Australia Corrections.
Senstar now employs several hundred people worldwide and boasts a wide range of security technologies, including the world's largest portfolio of perimeter intrusion detection products (fence sensors, buried sensors, above ground sensors), as well as video management, video analytics, access control, and personal coercion solutions.
Its products in the market are found in more than 100 countries, in tens of thousands of sites including cell towers, corrections, dams and waterways, electrical services, manufacturing and logistics, military and borders, oil and gas, transportation and water utility markets. Senstar also operates the world's most comprehensive private perimeter intrusion security test facility to ensure its products perform in the most extreme conditions.
The following are some of the company's most outstanding actions during 2020:
Appointment of Fabien Haubert as Ceo: Haubert was appointed Managing Director of Senstar in January 2020 to help strengthen the company's position as a global leader in physical security solutions with a focus on addressing the specific needs of key vertical markets.
- Achieved GSA approval: The General Services Administration (GSA) is the purchasing department of the U.S. government. GSA approval is a state that is used for organizations that have been accepted to sell to federal, state, and local agencies.
- Launch of Thin Client 3.9 with Dynamic Privacy Mask: When combined with Senstar Symphony (VMS) video management software, Senstar's Thin Client now features dynamic privacy masking.
- Completed integration of perimeter intrusion detection systems with Genetec Security Center: This deep integration allows users to optimally combine Senstar's perimeter intrusion detection systems with Genetec's Security Center platform to provide unified management of their entire security environment.
- Expanded access control offering to include integration with HID Global's newest controller platform, HID® Aero™: Senstar Symphony Access Control (AC) software now integrates with the new HID® Aero ™ controller platform. To support this integration, Senstar provides Aero Controllers as part of its access control offering.
