ONVIF made a new version of the Developer Plugfest

OnvifInternational. ONVIF organized the 22nd edition of the ONVIF Developers Plugfest as a virtual event, which took place over two weeks last October.

Nearly 50 developers and engineers from 26 companies that are onVIF members met virtually and completed nearly 200 hours of testing. Developers independently tested products to determine profile compliance, as well as assess interoperability between their devices and those of other manufacturers.

"Like so many other organizations, ONVIF has had to adapt to new ways of collaborating and exchanging ideas," said Per Björkdahl, Chairman of the ONVIF Steering Committee. "Interoperability does not happen in a vacuum and while nothing will replace the valuable face-to-face interaction with our members, we are grateful for the continued involvement of member companies in supporting the compliance of THE ONVIF profile."

Profiles tested at this event include Profile A for access control settings, Profile C for door control and event management, Profile S for basic video streaming, Profile T for advanced video streaming, Profile G for edge storage and retrieval, the Profile Q for quick installation and the Profile M Release Candidate for metadata and analysis for intelligent applications.

ONVIF Developer Plugfests are typically held twice a year around the world, allowing onVIF global members to collect and test their implementations. Due to the uncertain nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, details of ONVIF's 23rd Virtual Developer Plugfest will be announced at a later date.

More information on ONVIF-compliant products, including member companies and their supported models, is available on the ONVIF website: www.onvif.org
