The Akribos VC-1020 count sensor now has the ability to have the MQTT protocol integrated. Message Queuing (MQTT) telemetry transport is an open messaging protocol that manages telemetry information and is used in M2M and IoT devices. The MQTT protocol allows the count of people to be immediately transmitted to the platform of an occupancy software and offers an exact information of how many people are in the store, local or a specific area to be able to announce at the entrance the occupation status of the live premises.
The key feature of OPTEX's Akribos VC-1020 is the real-time and accurate multidirectional human traffic count (input/output – left/right/right) and configurable via web-browser.
The Akribos VC-1020 has a minimum of 98% counting accuracy to accurately track even with complicated movements of people at the entrance or exit, - while with other technologies with similar purposes such as video analytics/trip-wire, a relatively high margin of error is typically obtained. Ex: people who stand at the entrance and then follow, or go back and return, or enter from the side, or crowd, reflective or insufficient lighting, shadows, customers entering with stroller etc. are examples of situations that Akribos handles with high precision counting.
Due to its reliable characteristics, the Akribos VC-1020 is also used for the exploitation of data and information for marketing and statistical purposes, thus achieving added value and amortization of the investment. Ex: daily reports, monthly reports, trends, customer preferences within the establishment, live online reports to be able to respond with the appropriate number of staff in an area with more clientele ... which branch is the most visited?, how many customers did we have in May compared to January?, etc.
