International. Milestone Systems presents its Documentation Portal, an online space for distributors, installers, administrators, operators and customers to consult manuals and technical guides.
The new portal is part of update 2020 R1. The manuals and guides of the XProtect VMS and the Husky network video recorder are now available in an online format.
"The Milestone Documentation Portal is the first step in an initiative that seeks to bring together documentation in a single, convenient online location. Our team is committed to the continued development of the portal and to improving the ease of use for accessing product documentation," said Jesper Just Jensen, vice president of products at Milestone Systems.
In the Documentation Portal users can search by specific product or topic in all manuals and guides, so they do not have to go through the hassle of searching numerous manuals to find the correct answer. Users can download product manual PDFs to start or manage XProtect solutions, with the added benefit that they can now search for information throughout the documentation portal, ultimately allowing them to have more complete and general information.
Integration with XProtect VMS
When XProtect VMS is online, version 2020 R1 will connect to the online Documentation Portal when the user presses F1 for help. Offline systems will continue to use the installed help.
The Documentation Portal reflects the locations of existing documents and the user's browser settings. Localized documents appear when browsing or searching along with English options, giving more language options to users.
Possibility of mobile access
The Documentation Portal is enabled for mobile devices and thanks to this users can consult them from any place and device. The digitization of the manuals and the contents of the guides also facilitates the search for information through the chosen search engine of the users' choice.
