Colombia. Asobancaria (the Banking and Financial Institutions Association of Colombia) organizes the Congress on Fraud Prevention and Security to be held on October 24 and 25 in Cartagena. This space seeks to generate new capabilities, knowledge and tools to develop strategies that detect, prevent and react to cybersecurity and fraud events.
There the latest technologies to combat bank fraud are presented; among them, biometric systems, which serve as an infallible method of authentication for access to information.
This technology is a great alternative to avoid both external and internal fraud. Thanks to it it is possible to establish in an accurate way about who accessed, from where, on what date and at what time. In addition, authentication with biometrics provides greater convenience to the end user.
Maximum classification in false finger detection
Like all authentication systems, biometrics has been the victim of forgery. However, today technologies have been developed that make this solution practically impassable.
HID Globa announced, for example, that a second device in its family of readers with Lumidigm multispectral technology obtained the maximum score in the only ISO standard aimed at anti-spoofing and liveness detection.
This is iso/IEC 30107-3 Biometric Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) level 1, which further legitimizes the ability of biometric sensors to authenticate and certify that the fingerprint presented corresponds to a real and living person, and not to a false material or artificial copy, contributing to eliminate fraud.
So much is the confidence in this solution that one of the largest private banks in Latin America has enabled 27,000 ATMs with Lumidigm® fingerprint authentication. The multinational bank was concerned that multiple identities were being used by some people within its banking system.
Similarly, more than 115,000 multispectral fingerprint sensors have been deployed in Brazil to protect billions of transactions per year at ATMs. This represents 80% of the ATMs that are used by more than 85 million bank customers.
Fraud Prevention and Security Congress 2019
Attendees at the thirteenth edition of the Asobancaria congress, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Cartagena, will be able to see first-hand the products and benefits of multispectral technology at HID Global stands.
HID Global's V-series multispectral technology was the first fingerprint product to receive the highest score in the world's most rigorous certification test, and now the company has expanded that ISO certification for M-series devices.
Finally, the company will present at the event its HID FARGO DTCii financial card printer and encoder, which allows financial institutions to deliver a new bank card to a customer in a matter of minutes thanks to its instant issuance technology. This allows your customers to start using their cards right away, which is an added value for banks.
