Johnson Controls joined its Video and Access Control Solutions units

International. In order to better align both disciplines and optimize future technological developments in cyber resilience, business efficiency and intelligence, Johnson Controls combined its Tyco Video and Access Control Solutions business units into a single operating unit.

The combination of the two units will allow a strategic organizational approach to be adopted with respect to four key technological pillars: cybersecurity, cloud solutions, unification and automation, areas identified as fundamental to the commercial and security operations of an organization. The global realignment of equipment in engineering, product management and customer support will give Tyco Video and Access Control Solutions a more holistic view of how best to address new customer operational and security challenges while optimizing and expanding these core pillars across Tyco's portfolio.

"The growing demands for security as an essential organizational function for enterprises are driving our strategic focus in these core areas and this allows us to offer customers a scalable, secure and intelligent 'single-pane-of-glass' solution for systems administration," said Eli Gorovici, General Manager, Video and Access Control Solutions at Tyco for Global Security Products. "By leveraging our leadership positions in cybersecurity, cloud solutions, unification and automation, we will be able to continue to innovate and offer in the market solutions that provide the highest levels of efficiency, functionality and ease of use."

Tyco's new Video and Access Control Solutions unit will focus on growing some key technology areas, such as cloud platforms and AI-based automation tools, through the company's investment in deep learning technology. This will allow organizations to better utilize their resources and produce actionable intelligence for their businesses.

Johnson Controls and its Tyco security solutions are also supported by a dedicated Global Product Security Team that is responsible for generating and maintaining cyber resilience across Tyco's technology portfolio throughout a product's lifespan. Within the Tyco brand family there are native and deep integrations between various platforms and management devices, including products that unify video and access control operations, such as the victor unified management system, Kantech's Intevo integrated security platform, and Tyco's complete security solution.
