Motorola Solutions recently announced that the Dutch Caribbean Police successfully tested the Intelligent Application Service (ICaaS), proving the real advantages the solution brings to its mission-critical communications. This service model has allowed law enforcement to have access to easy-to-deploy mobile public safety applications, allowing them to respond to community needs more efficiently.

By eliminating the need to invest in additional servers and data centers, this model has enabled us to have always up-to-date public safety solutions, ready to provide real-time intelligence with access and sharing of critical information in an extremely secure manner, over existing broadband networks," said W. The company's public safety mobile apps are a highly efficient way to share critical intelligence between field officers and command center personnel. They work seamlessly on different networks and devices, favoring real-time communication and collaboration, which can help shorten resolution times.
The service package includes mobile applications such as:
Broadband PTT: Motorola Solutions' broadband PTT (Push to Talk) solution that allows smartphone users to communicate securely at the push of a button. In addition to allowing the creation of smartphone user groups to simplify communication, this application also offers a PTT link with the two-way radios (MRLs) currently used by the police, allowing teams to communicate via PTT regardless of the networks and devices they use.
Mapping: It enables location-based collaboration by showing the nearest officers and quickly establishing georeferenced, voice- or text-based communication groups with surrounding officers. Allow one officer to talk to another a block away, even without knowing his name.
Messaging: It allows first responders to securely share text messages and photos with individuals or conversation groups via smartphones, streamlining communication and collaboration. For example, the messaging app allows the user to send a photo to a voice conversation group.
Whiteboarding: This digital dashboard allows you to share information and collaborate in the field and interactively. It allows officers to share operations, response plans, and areas of interest graphically through drawings on a shared map on their devices.
The service ran on Motorola Solutions' LEX L10, a handheld LTE device for public safety. The Dutch Caribbean police force BES has been using thirty devices in order to ensure the safety of the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Devices and services have been integrated in order to promote collaborative work and strengthen their ability to connect, which has streamlined interaction.
