Argentina. This was unanimously highlighted by the authorities and businessmen who participated in Intersec Buenos Aires 2018, the integral security event that brought together, for three days, 185 exhibitors with 13,774 professional visitors.
Generate new business opportunities, strengthen commercial ties and promote academic updating: these are the objectives proposed every two years intersect Buenos Aires, the International Exhibition of Security, Fire Protection, Electronic Security, Industrial and Personal Protection organized by Messe Frankfurt Argentina in conjunction with the Argentine Chamber of Security (CAS) and the Argentine Chamber of Electronic Security (CASEL).
The last edition took place from August 29 to 31 at La Rural Predio Ferial, where 185 exhibitors (2016: 150) from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, the United States, Hong Kong and Paraguay received 13,774 national and international visitors (2016: 13,193). Compared to the last edition, there was a growth of 23% in the number of exhibitors and 4% in the attendees of the event.
"What you see in the exhibition is part of the production and work development of a whole year of our associates. We have the habit of working every day no matter what happens, we belong to the group of Argentines who want to do things well and for next year we think we are going to do exactly the same," said during the opening ceremony the President of CAS, Mr. Alberto Ruibal, referring to the complex macroeconomic context that the country is going through in recent days.
Meanwhile, the President of CASEL, Eng. Enrique Greenberg, said that "this event undoubtedly sets trends in the Electronic Security market, which fortunately today is in frank growth".
For his part, the President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, Mr. Fernando Gorbarán, highlighted and thanked "the more than 45 entities from all over Latin America that worked to present what we are seeing today, a great sample of integral security. A space to promote business and contacts, in which access to training and new technologies is given".
One of these spaces was the 10th International Business Rounds of Electronic, Industrial and Personal Security Products and Services, organized entirely by Messe Frankfurt Argentina. There were 90 meetings between 4 foreign buyers from Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay and 29 Argentine SMEs seeking to place their products in foreign markets.
Scope for training and networking
One of the strengths of the exhibition was the wide variety of activities that were developed in parallel, aimed at diverse audiences and from all sectors.
For example, CAS and CASEL presented an extensive program of conferences on comprehensive security, with specialists and current issues. Exhibitors, meanwhile, gave 65 technical conferences and product use demonstrations (2016: 19 conferences).
The National Council of Firefighters of the Argentine Republic organized its International Meeting and the "VII Skills Challenge", while the Organization of American Firefighters developed the international competition "OBA Cup". These events brought together 475 firefighters from all over the continent in a space of 3200 m2 outdoors.
One of the novelties of this year was the Demonstration Area, a space of 600 m2 in which Professionals from Firefighters and Civil Defense presented various live activities: a vehicle rescue clinic; hazardous materials handling drills; a mobile fire simulator and CPR trainings. Civil Defense delivered more than 400 certificates to visitors who came interested in learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques.
The next edition of Intersec Buenos Aires will take place from August 26 to 28, 2020 at La Rural Predio Ferial.
