Mexico. Given the growing environment of migration of applications to the cloud by users, the concept of Shadow IT has become one of the most relevant control issues in terms of computer security during this year 2016.
Faced with this situation, Westcon, specialist in advanced solutions for networks, security and communications technologies and Palo Alto Networks, the next generation security company, present in Mexico the "Aperture" solution, a product that allows extending security policies, advanced threat protection and contextual risk control towards SaaS (Software as a Service) environments.
Currently, Mexico is a very vulnerable country for corporate cyberattacks, according to recent industry data, this country has 13% more attacks than the average of countries worldwide. In addition, companies are poorly prepared in this regard, since in 2015 only 19% of firms installed computer security programs, compared to 40% globally, according to the consulting firm Ernst & Young.
"Aperture, in conjunction with Palo Alto Networks' next-generation security platform, allows organizations to learn in detail about what is now a blind spot for them, the use of SaaS software and the activity their users perform, as well as integrate these applications into the corporate security scheme.
Palo Alto Networks' next-generation platform features granular reporting and control capabilities over the use of SaaS solutions, complemented by Palo Alto Networks Aperture. Aperture allows to add visibility and control of SaaS applications, providing a comprehensive security solution in sanctioned applications, preventing unnecessary exposure of key information for the company and protecting against known and unknown malware," explained Carlos Alberto Pérez, Engineering Manager of Palo Alto in Latin America.
Advanced Threat Protection
Aperture is integrated with WildFire threat intelligence, to block any known malware and identify and block unknown malware. This extends wildfire's current integration to prevent threats into permitted SaaS products, preventing one more point of insertion. The new malware discovered by Aperture is shared with the rest of the Next Generation security platform, even if it's not in line with the SaaS app.
True SaaS Visibility
Aperture provides complete visibility of activity across all users, folders and files, delivering detailed analysis that helps your transition from a speculation position, to knowing exactly what is going on at a specific point in time. This gives you the ability to see deep analytics of day-to-day usage, enabling you to quickly determine if there is a data risk or compliance policy violations.
