Mexico. According to IDC, investments in administrative software will grow more than 50% by the end of this year in Mexico. Undoubtedly, the companies of the country, increasingly perceive the benefits provided by technology.
However, according to Microsip, a Mexican company dedicated for 30 years to the development and commercialization of administrative computer systems for micro, small and medium enterprises, consulting in the installation, training and implementation of this type of tools is essential for its greater use and in this way, obtain better results.
"The needs, requirements and expectations of each organization in a software implementation are very different. The reality is that usually more than 50% of the scope and potential of the tool is wasted. For this reason, it is of the utmost importance that the solution provider accompanies its customers in this process," said Israel Coto, Director of Microsip's Mexico City Office.
"There is a big difference between installation and an implementation process, in this case, installing, is just one step of a complex path," added Israel Coto.
Against this background, Microsip provides a series of steps to consider for a successful implementation:
1. Diagnosis: At this point, an advisor or expert visits the client and gets involved in the different areas of the company in order to know in detail its operation. Based on this, it carries out an exhaustive analysis considering the points of improvement and determining how the solution can be adapted to the different internal processes.
2. Tailor-made operating model: The advisor or advisors deliver to the entrepreneur a written document where they specify in detail the results of their diagnosis, which includes points such as:
to. Scope of the project
b. Stages
c. New flow of information
d. Scope and delimitation of responsibilities
and. Schedule of activities
f. Points of improvement
g. Expected results
h. Risk points
i. Conditions
3. Installation and configuration: The system is installed and configured in its basic parameters based on the model that was previously established and the scope expectations of the company leaders.
4. Training: In this process, personnel from all operational areas involved in their different functions and interventions are prepared with the new tool, simulating all possible day-to-day scenarios. Expert consultants can detect obstacles and/or hidden exceptions not contemplated in the initial analysis and that could affect the achievement of the expected objectives or scopes, so it is crucial to report immediately to make the appropriate decisions and avoid risks or problems once the system is operational.
5. Start-up: The moment of truth. Once modeled, installed, configured and trained personnel, the start date of operations is established, where hours before this occurs, the initial data such as balances of customers, suppliers and articles are loaded. In the case of companies that previously had a system, the disconnection of the previous software is determined to make way for the new one.
