Colombia. As part of a strategy of the Municipal Administration to safeguard the integrity of the Neivanos, the pilot test of visualization of 80 more surveillance cameras for the city began.
This implementation of new cameras seeks, in addition to promoting the safety of citizens, to improve the rates in this factor, said the mayor of Neiva, Pedro Hernán Suárez. Therefore, the most vulnerable areas of the city will be monitored 24 hours a day. The purpose is to continue strengthening security and citizen coexistence.
These new security cameras are in addition to the 94 that were already working, for a total of 174 devices for the benefit of Neivanos. The Secretary of Government, José Ferney Ducuara Castro explained that the video surveillance elements were installed in neuralgic sites of the city, in the most vulnerable areas.
"These security devices represent a breakthrough in surveillance issues for the city. They will allow us to change the lives of Neivans from the perspective of social crime prevention and deterrence. They are high-resolution cameras that will allow the immediate identification of whoever is committing a crime, speeding up their capture," said Ducuara Castro.
These 80 more security and surveillance devices were achieved thanks to the management of Mayor Pedro Hernán Suárez Trujillo, through an agreement with the Colombian Federation of Municipalities, in the development of the Municipal Watch program, with an investment that exceeds 2000 million pesos.
Communes such as 6, 8, 9 and 10, will benefit from the implementation of these security cameras, which in addition to countering crime, will also be support to reduce the rates of sale and consumption of narcotics, allowing an immediate reaction at the time of any irregular situation in the streets of the city.
