Latin America. Milestone Systems' open platform IP video management software (VMS) integrates with Bosch access control.
This integration has been certified with complete documentation of test results and best practices for optimal configurations. Now, Bosch and Milestone customers have a reliable and interoperable solution and that facility partners can leverage the practical information contained in certification documents to make better implementations.
The integration between the Bosch access control system and the Milestone XProtect® VMS was first achieved with the user interface through the Bosch system and subsequently updated with the XProtect® access control module in 2014. The certification process was completed at the end of that year. Today, the combined solution displays real-time access control events and alarms in Milestone's XProtect® Smart Client, also enabling control of doors, gates and barriers from the video interface. Live recording and video views are synchronized with all access control events.
The XProtect Access Control Module is part of the Milestone Integration Platform Software Development Kit (MIP SDK). The XProtect Smart Client provides a unified interface to the Bosch access control system with specialized functions such as monitoring access events with video verification, manual traffic assistance (door control, gates, etc.), conducting research on specific access points or cardholders, easy export of video evidence and reporting.
The video corresponding to Bosch access incidents confirms and visually informs about the situations at the moment they occur, in order to make decisions based on verified information and provide an efficient response. The video also provides evidentiary documentation that can be easily shared for analysis, rectification, or use in a legal process.
Thanks to the seamless integration of Bosch access control and the XProtect Smart Client, Milestone customers can retain their simple video interface while incorporating access control, without the need for additional training. In addition, the integration allows real-time monitoring with video verification to give quick responses to incidents, such as blocking, unlocking or activating a system locking system in real time. Users can also choose to work with the Bosch interface and the administration of the main access control system remains within the Bosch system.
