Mexico. In the framework of the celebration of World Environment Day, Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, received from Eng. Juan José Guerra Abud, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, the recognition of Environmental Excellence granted by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa).
In a special event in the Bicentennial Park, Enrique González Haas, President and CEO for Schneider Electric Mexico and Central America, accepted this recognition that certifies the continuous improvement that the French multinational has had in aspects such as environmental performance, commitment to the preservation of the environment and social responsibility with the environment.
Schneider Electric demonstrates its commitment to Mexico through the development of solutions that positively impact the environment, as is the case of the development of the Schneider Production System (SPS) that has been deployed in all its production centers to standardize them under the philosophy of lean manufacturing. Its manufacturing plant located in Tlaxcala, has been recognized twice as the best of the company worldwide, shares its best practices with centers located in Europe and Asia, and has received the Clean Industry Certification by Profepa.
"Beyond being an award for all of us who work at Schneider Electric, this recognition reflects the commitment we have to continue acting and promoting the Sustainability of Mexico through the efficient management of energy," said Enrique González Haas. "We are working to drive change in our country, by introducing information technologies in the energy sector, and promoting alternative sources of power generation that will allow better care for the environment."
