Peru. The municipality of Ventanilla inaugurated a modern video surveillance center that will allow the simultaneous interconnection of 250 cameras located in the most critical points of the district.
The modern monitoring center will be operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by highly qualified personnel.
The mayor, Omar Marco, said that this headquarters will help to efficiently face crime in a frontal way, even at the same time that the events occur. For better efficiency and coverage throughout the district, it will be interconnected with two annexes, located in the Municipal Agency of Pachacútec and in the agency of Villa los Reyes.
Likewise, this modern monitoring center is equipped according to international standards, and also has a telephone call center and a crisis room, where the multiple strategies to combat crime will be carried out.
Omar Marco announced that the acquisition of a new batch of 200 cameras for this year is already being evaluated and that each year the number will continue to increase.
Initiatives such as Ventanilla are increasingly recurrent in Latin American cities, today a good part of the municipalities of the region have been advancing security implementations of this type.
