After representatives of the municipalities of the state held a meeting with the Subsidy for Security in the Municipalities (Subsemun) in Mexico City, the mayor of Morelia, Wilfrido Lázaro Medina said he had signed a total of 100 million pesos in security matters of which 74 million belong to the federal order and 26 million to the municipal government.
"We are talking about a portfolio of 100 million pesos (US $ 6.7 million) to continue influencing the security of Morelians, we will continue working on surveillance, yesterday we managed to continue attracting more video surveillance cameras to Morelia, since almost 17 million pesos (US $ 1.1 million) more than last year were managed, " Added.
Likewise, Lázaro Medina pointed out to the local agency Quadratín the need to continue working at the same pace, with the aim that the cut by the Government of the Republic for the state does not have any impact on the projects, since thanks to the continuity of the Michoacán Plan, extraordinary resources are estimated for works and actions, as he says.
"What we have to do is to be very alert with the requirements that are required for the works since many times these are the ones that do not allow the works to advance, in the case of Morelia, we have been very punctual to report everything necessary since otherwise the works do not walk so we expect the resources to go down", Said.
On the other hand, the mayor emphasized the good end of the year that was registered for Morelia, since he affirms "we started the year with one thousand 500 million pesos (US $ 100 million) and we closed it with two thousand 200 (US $ 147 million)", a fact that is equivalent to 700 million pesos (US $ 46 million) additional to those that were budgeted for 2014.
