Paraguay. The Minister of the Interior, Carmelo Caballero, inaugurated the extensions of the Integrated Emergency Management System (SIGE), located in the Ñu Guazú Park and where a police service center and a modern surveillance video camera system are located.
The SIGE is interconnected to the 911 Security and Emergency Center (CSE 911) and functions as a monitoring base for video cameras strategically distributed in certain points of the park, with the aim of monitoring and preventing criminal acts. In addition, the site functions as a place of reception of complaints to which visitors can go.
In this way, 10 video cameras and the monitoring center were inaugurated, which will operate 24 hours a day with permanent police personnel on site, with the support of patrol cars, motorcycles and agents of the 3rd Police Station of the city of Luque. The appliances are high-tech and connected to the 911 System.
Minister Caballero announced that a similar security system is intended to be installed in the new Metropolitan Park and in the city of Itá, so that the CSE 911 will decentralize its tasks and expand its video surveillance services in various cities of the Central Department.
