Peru. With this new acquisition, the province of Cajamarca would already add 107 cameras, with which the Citizen Security Manager said that they will prioritize areas with a high crime rate in order to protect the population.
To the 42 video surveillance cameras and 10 new vans for the Serenazgo, 65 more cameras will be added that will place the province of Cajamarca as one of the safest cities in the north of the country, as it will put in check the common and organized crime.
The high-definition cameras will be connected to a fiber optic platform.
In this regard, the IT manager of the MPC, Humberto Gallardo, said that now the second stage is being worked on with the realization of the technical file and seeing the locations to quantify the project.
He indicated that the investment, allocated by resources from the canon, amounts to 7 or 8 million nuevos soles (US$2.7 million and US$3.1 million) taking into account that 65 cameras will be installed with which all of Cajamarca will be covered.
Gallardo said that in December the project would already be tendered and the execution would be carried out in January 2013.
In turn, the manager of Citizen Security, Edín Rojas, said that for the location of the video surveillance cameras has been taken into account, also the police statistics (police stations), serenazgo and neighborhood councils.
He also did not rule out the expansion of more cameras according to the criminal incidences and needs of the Cajamarquinos.
"With the cameras, located in strategic points of the city, Serenazgo will be able to visualize the criminal acts committed by the thieves and thus be able to capture them infraganti," Rojas said.
