Mexico. The Secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, Manuel Mondragón, announced that they will study requesting the companies of transfer of values that their vans be equipped with surveillance cameras, in the face of the series of robberies committed in the last month.
Mondragón indicated that he will issue orders to the General Directorate of Private Security of the SSP-DF, which controls the operation and licensing of companies in the sector, to prepare a technical project on the viability of the proposal.
"You have to technically study the possibilities, where to place it (the camera), I think it has to be outward and it can also be inside; you have to see the environment; fortunately the cameras that private companies have and that we have in the program have been excellent, because practically all the facts we have had the cinematographic transcription of what is happening, "said Mondragón.
Since August, three value transfer vans have been assaulted in the Cuauhtémoc, Miguel Hidalgo and Iztapalapa delegations, in which the criminals obtained considerable loot.
Mondragón is confident that private security companies will agree to equip their armored vehicles to counter robberies.
