Peru. The Gamarra shopping area, located in the District of La Victoria in Lima, Peru, announced the installation of 12 video surveillance cameras to reinforce the security levels of this area.
With a strategic location and the assembly of a monitoring center, it is expected to detect suspicious or criminal activities in advance and thus offer tranquility in this highly visited area.
According to the information released by the district, this is only the first step in a comprehensive intervention that hopes to culminate with a total of 32 cameras installed in the town.
Finally, the district mayor Alberto Sánchez, told local media that "these teams will give peace of mind to people who visit that commercial area, where the flow of visitors increases at the time of Fiestas Patrias."
