Peru. A new project to interconnect surveillance cameras that will strengthen crime prevention systems in the metropolitan area was presented by the Citizen Security Commission of the Municipality of Lima.
This agreement, prepared by the capital commune, the National Police and the district municipalities, will allow the police stations and the serenazgo of 13 districts of Lima to have access to the images of the 384 teams of the Metropolitan, as part of the "Single Response to the Neighbor" plan.
To this proposal, which will be developed in the Cercado de Lima and Miraflores, were added the districts of Independencia and Barranco, whose representatives witnessed the operation of the video surveillance system located in the Traffic Monitoring Center of Protransporte.
In this regard, the councilor Alberto Valenzuela, indicated that "through the Metropolitano road 100 kilometers of optical fiber are deployed, which can serve as a basis for interconnecting, in the medium term, the 1,000 cameras that exist in Lima with the police and district Serenazgo dependencies."
