Mexico. With a view to safeguarding the integrity and privacy of those who appear in security material, the Plenary of the State Congress unanimously approved the Initiative that contains the Law that establishes the bases for video surveillance in the entity.
This seeks to safeguard the integrity and privacy of the people who appear in the material of the security cameras, said Deputy Rodolfo Guerrero García, promoter of said project.
He pointed out that it is intended to regulate and concentrate all the videotaped material in a single institution, which will archive and protect the content, for which it is also necessary to create a homogeneous record of security cameras, both in the public and private sectors, and avoid their misuse, which is a concern of citizens.
He also informed that this record will include the who, where and for what he has a security camera, which was analyzed in detail and that will allow the integrity of the videotaped people to be protected, as well as allow the authorities to access the material in cases that require it, without violating the rights of individuals.
