Mexico. As part of its Security and Surveillance Program, the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, started the first of three stages of a comprehensive project, which consists of the installation of security cameras and monitoring stations throughout the University City.
The comprehensive project will consist of the installation of more than 90 monitoring cameras and 20 stations with speaker system, including panic buttons, and direct communication to the Security Directorate
Representatives of the institution pointed out that at least five stations will have a range capacity of 200 meters around and will be located in the points of greatest agglomeration of students.
In these stations, by pressing the panic buttons, students will be able to communicate directly and quickly to the Security Directorate, through an audio, call and voice communication system.
The first two stations have already been placed on Pedro de Alba Street and on the road that leads to the metro station, but these will not come into operation until the end of the project.
It was reported that the second stage will start in August, at the beginning of the semester. This stage will consist of the implementation of an information and dissemination program of this project so that students know the advantages and services of the system.
The third stage will be the full operation of the system, but its start date will depend on the progress of the second stage.
