Colombia. More than 4,000 visitors, more than 100 exhibitors, 500 jobs generated and $4,000 million pesos (about US$2 million) invested in organization, assembly and equipment, were some of the positive figures left by a new version of the International E&O Security Fair, which was held in Medellín between September 6 and 9.
SECURITY SALES also participated in one of the most important fairs for the Andean region, which featured several of the largest electronic security companies in the world. Patricia Acosta, director of the event, said that "we had a great experience, it was a sectoral fair, which was attended, for the most part, by industry professionals, who know the technologies and who are part of sectors such as mining, banking and commerce in general".
Patricia considers that Medellín was confirmed as a favorable space to exhibit the latest technologies: "The fair was positioned as a meeting place for people from various areas of Colombia; we also have the participation of attendees from the Andean Region, as well as from Central America and the Caribbean, which continues to expand this industry."
The trend in E&O was directed to IP systems for CCTV, of course, without neglecting the still dominant analog technology. Video recorders, access control systems, screens, among other alternatives, adorned the enclosure and caught the attention of visitors.
Natalia Argáez, marketing director of Sony Colombia, took stock of the fair. "We did very well, we managed to generate many important contacts and with them we will be able to reach agreements for good business."
For his part, Alexandro Salinas, sales manager for Latin America at Bolide, said that "it was worth the investment we made to be present in Colombia. We had specialized visitors who know the sector what is important to us when offering the solutions. Medellin is a very good venue for this fair."
Another highlight was the reception of the two academic events held during the fair, both the technical-commercial talks offered by some representatives of the brands, and the Academic Program E + S organized by ALAS, which had a high attendance.
The 2012 version of the International Security Fair will return to the capital Bogotá, while in 2013 Medellín will host the industrial event again.
